The laboratory starts with a section equipped with machines to bring SMEs closer to the different benefits of Additive Manufacturing.
With the help of the 18 municipalities of the region through Goieki and the Basque Government, Goierri Valley goes one step further and inaugurates the HUB 4.0, a space in which SMEs can approach and experience these new technologies. This lab that started in November with an Additive Manufacturing section that has four different types of machines.
Goierri Valley has been working for years to facilitate digital transformation in companies, but with this project the partnership takes a step further and opens up to 4.0 technologies.
THERE ARE NEW WAYS OF DOING
Goierri Valley inaugurates the HUB 4.0 open to all industrial SMEs wishing to join the digital transformation, with the aim of getting them to know and incorporate the technologies of industry 4.0.
We accompany SMEs in their digital transformation and promote the integration of new technologies and the possibility of testing additive manufacturing machines so companies know how they can integrate into their production processes.
The fourth industrial revolution involves the integration of new production techniques with smart technologies. From HUB 4.0 we encourage small business to overcome the challenges ahead and to keep up with market conditions.
We make it easier for SMEs to have direct and real contact with the new tools and to react to this change that is already happening.
SERVICES OFFERED BY HUB 4.0
Beyond bringing SMEs closer to additive manufacturing, Goierri Valley has an extensive program to carry out in the medium term and promote digital transformation in the industry. This first year of Goierri Valley, HUB 4.0 is planned to carry out the following actions:
- Specific training: in reverse engineering, simulations and mechanical properties of additive manufacturing materials.
- Awareness days to bring the benefits of industry 4.0 and additive manufacturing closer. Among others, metal additive manufacturing, cybersecurity, sensors and data, simulations… Talks on good practices will also be organized by experienced companies and partners companies from Goierri Valley.
- Prototype production that serves as a simple and allows SMEs to approach this technology before investing or changing production habits.
- Showroom, as showroom will be set up in the future where the partner companies of Goierri Valley will expose their solutions in 4.0 technologies.
- Visits, any company or entity interested in knowing or visiting the HUB 4.0 will be able to contact the Goierri Valley HUB 4.0 team through the website www.goierrivalley.com, in email This email address is being protected from spambots. COMPANIES ARE ALREADY IMPLEMENTING
At Goierri Valley we are already working to bring the benefits of additive manufacturing closer to partner companies. Since the launch of HUB 4.0 two companies have consumed the technologies we offer and two more have shown interest in knowing what benefits they can have in real applications. Of these four companies, three are SMEs.
While it is true that so far the Goierri Valley companies have been involved, the HUB 4.0 will be open to all the companies concerned, regardless of whether they are associated and the geographical area in which they are located.
GOIERRI INNOVATION POLE
We have a network of strategic partners, such as the Lortek Technology Center and Goierri Eskola, located at the technological pole of Goierri to connect SMEs with other technologies typical of the new industry. We firmly believe that SMEs need to continue to innovate.
In addition to offering the full range of services related to 4.0 technologies at the Goierri Innovation Pole, HUB 4.0 will transfer the needs that are identified in SMEs, to align it with the supply of pole services such as teaching and research.
SAME ASSOCIATION VALUES
HUB 4.0 is a Goierri Valley project with its own identity, dedicated especially to digital transformation and 4.0 technologies in the industry. This space will be guided by the values of the association.
Competitiveness through shared knowledge. Develop new products; enter new sectors and new markets to ensure that the industrial fabric of Goierri is the most competitive.
Excited about the project and willing to improve it by doing things differently. Get involved, get know each other and get closer by and for transformation and mutual help. Conforming to “has always done so” is an idea that needs to be replaced.
Alliance to evolve. There is no real growth if you do not work side by side. The association seeks to bring the relationship from an industrial level to a relationship between people. Contributing from all sides makes us strong. Real, active, honest collaboration of associates.
To get far you have to look close. We are united by the feeling of belonging. We are in Goierri and we want to build a sustainable future for our environment.
SERVICES SECTORS THAT CAN BE ADDED TO ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
Although the partnership focuses primarily on the digital transformation of the industrial sector, additive manufacturing also accelerates innovation and drives business in many industries: engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, education, jewelry, etc.
BASQUE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY AND OTHER RESOURCES
Goierri Valley has obtained a grant of €300,000 from the Vice Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment of the Basque Government, for an initial investment of €380,000, and the commitment of companies to finance all the operating and maintenance costs of HUB 4.0.
This initiative has also had the support of the municipalities of the region through Goieki, within the framework of the Berrabiarazi project.
