In the General Assembly of Goierri Valley, celebrated at the Igartza Palace in Beasain, on the day of the Association’s first anniversary, the managers have joined together with Markel Olano, General Deputy of Gipuzkoa and Ainhoa Aizpuru, the Economical Promotion, Rural Development and Territorial Balance Deputy.
After one year path, this Association that was created in order to be the motor of the industrial development of the region of Goierri is being consolidated, in number of associates, number of workers and budget. The Association leads the industrial transformation of the region of Goierri, through the collaboration of the associated companies, sharing the knowledge and innovating for guarantee the industrial competitiveness and the future sustainability of the surroundings.

The general deputy has underlined the valuable labour that carries out Goierri Valley encouraging the collaboration between companies and at the internationalisation area. He also has indicated that the collaboration is the key for continuing in the path of the competitiveness of the companies. He has applauded the cooperative model of Goierri Valley, which proofs an interesting way to face the challenges that the market and the current world consider.

The 55 companies that form this unique industrial alliance in the world, sums in total 2.903 million Euros in sales, with more than 41.400 employees all around the world and with 39 international production plants, besides the national ones.
In the first year, the Association has obtained an income of 350.000€, and only the 36% belong to the contribution of associates.
- Challenges of the association.
The actions implemented since the beginning, respond to the following challenges:
- Intercooperation network between the market leaders and SMEs.
- Collaboration network between market leaders.
- Strengthening of the SME.
- Notoriety and visibility.
- Added value services portfolio.
- These are some of the strategic projects that are carrying out from the association.
Project Win&Win. The aim of this project is to guide the SME to the future competitiveness. First of all, together with the market leaders, strategic view sessions have been prepared, in order to make the strategic plan Horizon 2020 for SMEs afterwards. Once the plan is approved, they have looked for their common challenges for future projects: trying to diversify the activity of the SME geared towards the profitability, to be more efficient in their production and encouraging the commitment of the people with the organizations.
Some specific development projects have also been identified in collaboration between companies: 4.0 Industry, product development and the offer of a more complete and better service.
This project has been financed by the Regional Council of Gipuzkoa.
Munduan. In the internationalisation area, Association’s strategy is being defined through the internationalisation work group. The future challenges and target markets are already set, taking into account the Internationalisation Plan of Euskadi 2020. These markets are Germany, France, Chile and Mexico.
In the last market mentioned, a commercial mission will be carried out this June together with 8 companies of the Association. The aim is to develop the opportunities of the companies as well as the definition of the conditions regarding to the use of the Commercial Office and the storehouse that all the companies of Goierri Valley have at this country at their disposal.
Project Antena. Its objective is to carry out technological surveillance for companies, on the way to specialization of Goierri’s industry, especially towards the smart mobility sector. In this sense, specific actions will be carried out, such as the analysis of the value chain of this sector and an awareness day.
Elkar Ezagutzen. This project that seeks the collaboration between market leaders of the region, has defined some fields to share the impressions, knowledge and experiences, in order to create a breeding ground to promote projects in collaboration. Multilevel forums of purchases, human resources and production, among others, will be launched.
